...For the same reason people are killing with no guarantee they'll live to see the reward, I guess. When all of your choices are bad, you may as well take the one that might get you what you want, right?

[That's basic psychology, and it's not exclusive to humans. Satori's been tempted to kill someone - the motive to correct a mistake was particularly difficult to resist - so she knows very well how that feels.]

[ Dhaos watched her carefully... and truly her words rung a chord. He recalled that conversation they had, and it makes him silent. She was trying to hide her expression but he knew that it was because such a thing was weighing so heavily upon her mind.

Still, he is not sure if he wishes to leave it as is. ]

[ Speaking her name now, because he thought about extending his hand towards her or something, but she is obscuring her face. So if anything, to perhaps get her mind temporarily off such a thing (unlikely), or start to bring up something. In an attempt to at least try to help. ]
