[ Something has been on his mind ever since last week, and even though this week... events have "simmered down", it's not enough to dissuade Dhaos from leaving it be. Hence why he wishes to speak to Lithuania alone, and has made it a point to knock upon her door. ]

[Lithuania is surprised to see Dhaos at her door, but considering there's no motive this week, she isn't too worried about the day or time. Her hair is out of its braid, revealing just how long it actually is. Laima looks up from the bed closest to the door.]

Good evening. Did you need something?

[ Dhaos merely nods his head. ]

Good evening.

... If you do not mind, there was something I wished to discuss in confidence.

[ He doesn't need anyone self-righteously sticking their head into their conversation. ]

Perhaps... about last week.

Alright. [A lot of things happened last week, but Lithuania doesn't mind talking about any of them. She steps back to allow him into her room. It's perfectly tidy, as she keeps her do not disturb sign up to stop the redistribution of dust.] What would you like to discuss?

[dhaosu]

... You said Miata is your "citizen". You and Poland are "nations".

[ ... ]

Unfortunately, at the time I did not ask to truly comprehend what you meant-- or understand your true nature. [ In his quiet rage, he merely pretended to. ] But now, I with to ask what exactly this means, especially since I believe you and Miata have never met before this foolish "game".

[Lithuania nods.] Technically, she's from Lettland, but her language, her accent--it's all my area. Combinations of mine and my neighbor's. [Technically, this place is sort of hers, too.] Normally, I'm connected to my citizens, and I have been all my life. I can't die unless they all die, so I've lived for a very long time. [She's proud of that--her people are resilient and strong and she would never hide that.] We're spirits that represent countries, and it means we're devoted to our people. Even if Miata is from a different world, I still want to protect her.

[dhaosu]

I see...so it is like that.

[ His eyebrows furrow, considering. It explains her over-protective behavior, and why she sees perhaps some good in that human. They were spirits who were devoted to humans. ]

What about that other human? Do you feel the same for her as well?

[herbgrace]

Katerina? [Lithuania looks troubled at that.] No. It's not the same. I still want to try to reason with her, but--I don't think it's possible, with what she's done. [She's not angry, she's disappointed. Okay, she's upset, too, but it's clearly generally a very distressing situation for her to be in.]

[ Dhaos finds himself okay with the fact that Lithuania doesn't want to protect the other human as well at least. Because...well. Even if seems to bother her-- she seems disappointed.

He figures Lithuania's kindness would have been wasted on that one in particular anyway. ]

Mm. If anything she seems to get a sick enjoyment out of this, in stark contrast to Miata.

[ He still dislikes Miata, but now that Katerina made her identity known... he might want to try a little on that. Actually more than a little but he's not going to admit that. ]

That said...you do believe Miata can be reasoned with, then. To the point where she and the rest of us can feasibly help each other?

It's obvious Miata doesn't like what she has to do. I don't know what's convinced her to participate, but I'm sure it's not something she's doing willingly. [Lithuania believes in her!]

[dhaosu]

I see.

[ Even if Dhaos doesn't have faith in Miata, he thinks over the entire conversation. Spirits, protecting their own people. He should know what that's like-- in fact he does. But...humans. ]

We shall see if your faith isn't misplaced... epecially considering it doesn't look like she can do much. But, we do not have many options or any other possible allies from that group besides her.

[ He pauses as he considers something. But decides to not speak on it, beginning to leave. ]
